Kash hasil mujhe yeh rang e tamasha hota,

Roz-o-shab samne tera rukh-e-zeba hota.

Rounaqein aati, khushi hoti, nikalte armaan,

Tum-qadam-rakhte mere ghar mein-to-kya-kya hota.

Phir mujhe ishq mein mazoor samajhta nasih,

Meri aankhon se jo us ne tujhe dekha hota.

Mehmaan hai koi dam ka yeh tumhara bemar,

Tum bhi aa jate jo balin pe to acha hota.

Yun na thukrao agar de hi diya dil tum ko,

Dil tumhara jo na hota to yeh kiska hota.

Har ghadi us ki maiyyat ka tasawwur hai Naseer,

Yeh bhi hota na mere sath to tanha hota.

(English Translation)

If only I could attain this spectacle,

Day and night, your beautiful face would be before me.

Vibrancy would come, happiness would bloom, desires would emerge,

If you stepped into my home, what wonders would unfold.

Then the advisor would not consider me helpless in love,

If only he had seen you through my eyes.

This patient of yours is but a momentary guest,

It would be better if you too came to the bedside.

Do not reject me so harshly if you have already given your heart,

If it were not your heart, whose would it be?

Every moment, Naseer, I imagine his presence,

If he were not with me, I would be utterly alone.
