Story of Hazrat Dawood (A.S.) in English

Hazrat Dawood (A.S.) was a very noble, brave, and intelligent person. Allah Almighty chose him as a prophet for the nation of Bani Israel. Allah sent down the divine book Zaboor upon Hazrat Dawood (A.S.) as a source of guidance. He recited the Zaboor in such a beautiful and heart-touching manner that listeners would become emotional. His recitation was so melodious that not only humans but also animals, birds, and even jinns would gather around him to listen.

Hazrat Dawood (A.S.) adopted the profession of blacksmithing. Iron would become soft in his hands, and he would mold it into tools and various other useful items. He lived his entire life in simplicity. He wore simple clothes, used clay utensils, and his house was also very humble. He would stay awake at night, reflecting on the commandments of Allah revealed in the Zaboor. He was always concerned that people should repent from their sins and return to righteousness.

When Hazrat Dawood (A.S.) was a young man, the king of Bani Israel at that time was Taloot, who had been appointed by Allah. Their enemy was the powerful king Jaloot, whose army was vast and strong. Before the battle, Taloot announced that whoever killed Jaloot would be made the next king. During the battle, Hazrat Dawood (A.S.), by the command of Allah, killed Jaloot. This shattered the morale of Jaloot’s troops, leading to a victorious outcome for the army of Bani Israel.

After this great victory, Hazrat Dawood (A.S.) was appointed the king of Bani Israel. Even after becoming king, Hazrat Dawood (A.S.) continued to earn his livelihood through his own profession and hard work.
