If distances remain reserved from us,

We too are not helpless, nor without support

We will call upon Him even from afar,

If our feet get tired on the way

As soon as the Green Dome appears,

The manner of worship will change

Who will find time to bow their head,

Prostrations will drip from the eyes themselves

We will wander alone in Madinah,

Intentionally getting lost in its streets

We will not return once we reach there,

People will tire searching for us

Wherever His name is taken,

Wherever His remembrance is made

Light upon light will fill the hearts,

And His manifestations will sparkle across the gathering

O visitor of Madinah, for God’s sake,

Do not narrate to me this journey’s tale

My heart will ache, this will go too far,

My careful tears will overflow

Don’t judge my sightless eyes,

Do not burden yourself to guide me

When His gracious gaze will rise here,

The paths till the destination will light up

When the cool breeze blows from Madinah,

When the drifting clouds come falling

Flowers will bloom everywhere,

Roofs and corners will be filled with fragrance

His merciful gaze knows well,

Which traveller holds how much love for the journey

Whenever Iqbal is granted permission,

We too will reach the court of our Master
